The Wellsboro Area School District is seeking a dedicate and energetic team player as a Career Technical Educator to instruct in the new Health Occupations Program at Wellsboro Area School District for the 2023-2024 school year. It is anticipated that there will be negotiated hours mutually agreed upon to upstart the Health Occupations Program which would include student recruitment (Grades 8-11), working with the Occupational Advisory Committee, ordering and organizing the equipment, materials, texts for the program and a visit to the same program in another school district. A successful candidate must possess strong interpersonal skills, management skills, and be highly motivated to work with students.
QUALIFICATIONS (one of the following):The applicant must have four (4) years of wage-earning experience in the healthcare field. Vocational teaching certificate is not required to apply. The successful candidate must complete the PA Department of Education course work and certification process (if not already certified). The District provides college credit reimbursement in accordance with the Wellsboro Area Education Association Contract. Applicant must submit letter of interest, resume, state standard teaching application form, professional certificates, transcripts, three current letters of reference and current clearances (Act 34, Act 151, FBI fingerprinting clearances).
Health Occupations Program Description: This program prepares high school students to apply knowledge and skills in all levels of health occupations needed to meet the employment needs of our local area and abroad. Instruction is provided in the basic skills in a variety of areas associated with health occupations such as health and medical services, pharmaceutical and medical instruments and supplies. Instruction includes but is not limited to foundations of health (medical terminology); anatomy and physiology; legal, ethical and economic aspects of health care; clinical laboratory procedures; basic health occupational skills, aseptic techniques; OSHA regulations; and infection control. Clinical education is an integral part of the program. Science and math taught by certificated science and math teachers will be coordinated and deemed essential for students to successfully reach their career objectives.

Responds to high school students in the technical school setting that are injured or suffer from an illness. Maintains routine support for students with standing medical needs. Communicates with parents, school staff and supporting healthcare professionals. Candidate must have their RN License and be eligible to obtain certification as a school nurse.
Active position as an LPN assisting high school students in a technical setting. Position will support the school nurse with providing services to students, health screenings, documentation and communication.

This position will require a dual responsibility to service Jeff Tech and Brockway Area School District working with students who present with emotional and behavioral difficulties.
Successful candidate will provide Part-time (4 hrs. per school day) Special Education support services. Certification not required.
