Medical Assistant Program Director and Instructor (Post-Secondary) – 12 Month
Interested candidates should be passionate about training adult students preparing for careers in the medical assisting profession. The selected candidate will have knowledge of both theory and practice in the medical assisting profession and be comfortable with providing instruction in the classroom and clinical lab settings. The program director will be responsible for program curriculum, effectiveness, administration, planning and development, and coordinating practicums. Minimum of three years of employment in a healthcare facility, including a minimum of 160 hours in an ambulatory healthcare setting performing or observing administrative and clinical procedures as performed by medical assistants. Preference given to candidates credentialed in good standing in medical assisting, by an organization whose credentialing exam is accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) or the American National Standards Institute (ANSI), or able to obtain credential within two years. Instructional Assistant – Health Occupations - School Year/9 Month
Interested candidates should be excited to work alongside GACTC’s expert instructional staff and share their knowledge of health occupations with high school age students. The individual chosen must be a registered LPN or RN (preferred) with a current and unrestricted license and a minimum of two years of nursing experience as an RN/LPN. At least one year of long-term care experience (which includes a minimum of 200 hours over the course of one full year) is a plus. Responsibilities include assisting in student supervision, ensuring professional standards are demonstrated, and reinforcing the instructor’s lessons. Preference will be given to individuals with strong references and work experiences. This is a FT, 9-month, assistant position with full benefits.

Heating, Ventilation, Air-Conditioning, and Refrigeration Instructor
This is an instructional program that prepares individuals to apply technical knowledge and skills to install, repair and maintain commercial and domestic heating, air conditioning and refrigeration systems. Instruction includes theory and application of basic principles involved in the conditioning of air (cooling and heating); filtering and controlling humidity; operating characteristics of various units and parts; blueprint reading; use of technical reference manuals; the diagnosis of malfunctions; overhaul, repair and adjustment of units and parts such as pumps, compressors, valves, springs and connections; and repair of electrical, electronic and pneumatic control systems.

The successful candidate must possess communication skills which will be required to convey the description, purpose, requirements, course prerequisites, curriculum and student responsibilities of the HVAC/r program to students, parents, educators, and the general public.

The Delaware County Intermediate Unit (DCIU) is hiring a full time, Assistant Director of Student Services and Early Childhood Education, and invite you to become a part of a long-standing tradition of child-focused service that is the hallmark of DCIU.

Key Qualifications:
The Assistant Director for Student Services for Early Childhood Education will assist the Executive Director and Assistant to the Executive Director in the day-to-day administration of Intermediate Unit programs in Early Childhood Education. This position will help provide leadership to develop and implement a comprehensive system of Early Childhood Education services and programs. Key to this position is strengthening current programs and demonstrating entrepreneurialism as the Intermediate Unit is a service organization that continually evolves based on the needs of our stakeholders.

Essential Functions:
  • Assist the Executive Director and Assistant to the Executive Director for Student Services in the administration and leadership for Intermediate Unit programs in Early Childhood Education and oversight of fiscal and personnel operations.
  • Establish positive working relationship with local early childhood providers, school district stakeholders, central office administration, program staff, and state and federal level stakeholders.
  • Assists with human resource management tasks (e.g. selection; assignment; evaluation; conducts in-service programs as requested) and direct, supervise, and evaluate the efforts of the early childhood program/service of oversight. Assist with negotiations and implementation of all collective bargaining agreements.
  • Provide leadership (and keep informed) regarding state and federal regulations, memoranda, and legislation relative to early childhood education.
  • Assist in building internal and external partnerships to support the efforts of DCIU programs and initiatives and develop positive relationships through outstanding customer service.
  • Act as an entrepreneurial leader for the organization by developing and implementing new services and programs and revising services and programs within Early Childhood Education. Propose and lead development of grant proposals to secure funding.
  • Advise and support the Executive Director with strategic planning, short- and long-range planning of program and services, introduction of new programs, strategies, and regulatory mandates and assist in fostering a success-oriented, accountable environment within the DCIU.
  • Provide leadership, design ideas, and action plans for implementation of strategic priorities, continuous improvement process, and innovation.
  • Establish and maintain an efficient records system for programs to provide accurate information and maintain the confidentiality of privileged information.
  • Assist in leading curriculum development, instructional practice, family supports of early childhood programs for the purpose of ensuring effective academic, social/emotional, and career development.
  • Performs other duties as necessary.
 
Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree. Experience in Early Childhood Education.
  • Identify appropriate supports, learning aids and accommodations to be provided through the student IEP that allow the student to participate in the CTE program, as well as transitioning into post-secondary opportunities, to his/her fullest extent.
  • PDE Administrative Certification in either Curriculum, Principal or Superintendent Letter of Eligibility.

The Montgomery County Intermediate Unit (MCIU), located in Norristown, PA in the suburbs of Philadelphia, is seeking a proven leader to serve as Executive Director. With this in mind, the MCIU has obtained the services of the Association of Educational Service Agencies (AESA) to conduct a National search process to identify highly qualified candidates. The MCIU, with 650 employees and a $150 million budget, serves 22 public school districts, nonpublic schools, career-technical schools, charter schools and the Pennsylvania Department of Education.
 
Essential position duties:
  • Serve as the chief executive officer of the Montgomery County Intermediate Unit.
  • Administer and provide leadership to all Intermediate Unit programs, including the Offices of Business Services, Community & Governmental Relations, Early Childhood, Human Resources, Professional Learning, Student Services, and Technology.
  • Responsible for all Intermediate Unit fiscal and personnel operations.
  • Establish a positive working relationship with local district superintendents and serve as the Chairperson of the Superintendents' Advisory Council meetings.
  • Provide direct assistance to school districts, non-public schools, charter schools, career & technology centers, and early childhood agencies.

Minimum position requirements:
  • Must possess or be eligible for a Pennsylvania Superintendent Letter of Eligibility;

  • Must have strong knowledge of Pennsylvania education law and an understanding of the Pennsylvania Intermediate Unit system.
